The Reality of Adoption: Confronting Common Myths
Fears, questions, doubts and concerns. About what you know . . . about what you don’t know . . . about what you know you don’t know.
When it comes to adoption and foster care these are normal and even common experiences and reactions. Yet there is still the challenge of confronting the many different myths about adoption and foster care, and sorting through all the fact and fiction to discover the reality of it all.
That is why we have launched this series entitled The Reality of Adoption: Confronting Common Myths – to offer solid information as well as our collective insight borne from experience. Do we have all the answers? Probably not. But we hope that this series is both helpful and encouraging for you or someone you know.
So let’s get started. The series will include the following posts from several of the Adoptive Dads contributors:
• The Good Wait
• You Can Afford to Adopt
• Will He Be Mine?
• Parenting Minus/Parenting Plus
• Saved By Adoption
• An Exception to the Rule: A Different Perspective on Foster Care
• Someone Else’s Problem
