Thank you for all your comments!

Scott - It is amazing what faith leads us to do even when it seems unrealistic or unwise at times in the worlds eyes (and even the church!). Often times it leads to the greatest joys in life.

Barry - Thanks for linking and for sharing God's faithfulness to provide on your blog. Thanks for your support of your pastor too!

Michelle - Thank you for sharing your experience. I think there are many others than can relate. It is awesome to hear that you have kept moving forward trusting in the Lord no matter what others said (and often it is hardest when it is family!) I also love the George Muller like faith - just asking God and trusting He will lead people to give and He gets all the glory. I have wrestled with that very thing personally and we have as an organization trusting God for funding. Your experience is very encouraging!

Kendra - Amen! I think of your specific situation often when I think of God's faithfulness and ability to provide in adoption!

Jenna - What a great testimony you guys have! Glory to God! Love how God knocks our socks off by doing things "unconventionally!"

I keep joking that "Jesus is putting money into our bank account". It does not add up that we've been able to pay what amounts to almost 1/2 of our annual income (one income, fulltime ministry) in CASH for our adoption process over the course of 10 months. We, too, have experienced people giving without our asking, done some selling of extra "things", and a sale to help out, but it's so true. When God calls, you don't say no b/c of the $$$ aspect. We've left that up to Him and He's knocked our socks off in the unconventional ways He's provided every step of the way. We're currently waiting to travel and just got an 11th hour call that there's $$$ in a 0% interest loan fund allotted for our travel plans, praise God! We've been saving and saving and just couldn't seem to reach the whole cost plus unexpected/unanticipated costs and now we don't have to worry about them, they'll be covered. Thanks for this reassuring article.

Most recently, someone in my family told me I was just looking for handouts. My kids had made up a jar and wrote "adoption fund" on the jar. Some people have given to us through this way. At first, when we decided to adopt, we asked people to help. But over the next few months, I sincerely felt God asking us to just trust Him with the adoption money. I didn't feel like using my own methods was bringing glory to God in any way. So I just didn't ask. I prayed. We are still in the homestudy process, but we have received about $5000 just from people giving "just because". I never asked them. They just gave. And although I know we have a long way to go, I totally trust that God will see this through since it is His vision and plan for our lives. This family member told me that I shouldn't adopt because I can't afford it. I wonder how much of this just makes people uncomfortable because they don't understand it. These words of course bother me, but I have come to realize that I need to trust in God...completely...and ignore stupid comments from other people who just can't be happy about anything. This blog reminded me of this truth. Thank you for sharing it.

Excellent article. Thanks also for the article on funding ideas and financial resources. I had written a post about my pastor's adoption a few days ago, and decided to follow it up with a link to this article because of some of the comments on my first post. Thanks again.

Great post Jason!! I beleive this is the number one road block for most couples. My wife and I living from paycheck to paycheck finally trusted God as this was something that He wanted us to do. God was and is faithful, as now we have two adopted children. You're absolutely right, I couldn't imagine my life without these two sweet boys had we not trusted God for the resources. Praise be to Him!
